The Ultimate Guide for Content Creation

As marketers we constantly get asked to create more content for our brands or products, but when is it too much? We should not create content for the sake of creating content. As with everything in marketing and business, it should have a clear purpose.

What is your intention or purpose?

  • Do you want to raise brand awareness?
  • Drive traffic to your website?
  • Drive traffic to your store?
  • Drive leads
  • Drive sales
  • SEO
  • Outreach
  • Informational
  • Brand awareness

If your answer was yes to any of these questions? And I hope it was, then go for it! Create the content you have been asked for. But keep in mind that to create content for social media you have to have a clear voice of how your brand would sound to your target audience/followers. Every piece of content, should serve a purpose, and make sense. Be cohesive in how your assets look and your brand’s voice.

Important

Understand your audience, and create content that they will find valuable. Ask your teams… Ask your sales team, customer service teams, and not only your marketers about what they think your company should be creating content for. They might know your audience in different ways that could help your marketing teams to create content that your audience will connect with, they might know better than anyone what kind of information is needed to be put out there for the masses to bring more business to your company.

Last Tip, I promise 😉

Keep yourself organized; once you have those clear objectives create a calendar to ensure you are following through with your social media campaign. This will ensure that all those assets you are creating are going to be used and are relevant considering the time of the year.

Be current, study the competition, see what works and what doesn’t, and be creative in what you are putting out there but staying “on brand”. All of these will help you to create content that matters and will bring conversions to your company or product.
