Let’s Talk Website Design

This time we will be talking about website design! If you are new to website design and you are looking for some tips on what to do to better your website, I highly encourage you to continue reading. Here we will briefly discuss how you can design your site to make it more user-friendly.

Let’s dive right in! When discussing website design as with everything in marketing, you must first keep your consumer/target audience in mind. Put yourself in the shoes of your website visitors and think about why you would like them to go to your page.

  • Are you having a sale?
  • Are you informing them about something?
  • Do you want them to take any type of action?

If you said yes to any of those questions, know that your consumer is coming due to a promise you made, to offer some kind of information. Your job is to design your site to make it easier for them to do what you want them to do.

Something easy to do is to view what others in the same industry as you are doing with their website. You may be inclined to reinvent the wheel and try to do something different which I’m all for it but at a later time.

Take Action

Right now, what you can do is perform A/B testing and see what works and what doesn’t. Keep in mind that other websites offering something similar to what you are offering may look similar in certain ways is because the standard design for that industry works. The visitors are going to their site because is easy to use and they already have created an expectation of what a website should look like for what they need. So, follow the standard at least for now.

Understand that less is more. With time you can definitely experiment but now that you are just starting make sure that when someone visits your site, you state clearly what you are offering. Show them the reason why your site and what you are offering is different than the rest, and if you want them to take action make sure it’s clearly stated without distractions.

Something really important when you are starting with your site is to show credibility, consistency, and easy navigation which with can be achieved by strategic asset placements though out your site that will ultimately help your conversion rate and keep your website visitors coming back for more.
